History

Death is an abstract being who embodies the concept of mortality. Along with Eternity, Infinity, and Oblivion, Death is one of the great cosmic forces of existence, holding sway over all those whose lives come to an end. Many terrestrial and extraterrestrial races worship their own death gods or goddesses such as Ahpuch, Erishigal, Hela, Pluto, Seth, and Ya and demons such as Mephisto and Satannish have laid claim to souls of the departed. These beings all serve the interests of Death, but their exact relationship has not been revealed. Death has also been said to be the "brother" of Galactus because they came into existence at the same time.
